Welcome to InspiredPublic.com (formerly Creative Public), my name is Jennifer. For more about me, please see JenniferChiera.com
InspiredPublic.com is a compendium of public domain resources. Dictionary.com defines “public domain”as
the status of a literary work or an invention whose copyright or patent has expired or that never had such protection.*
The purpose of this collection is to create awareness, provide links to information on how the public domain works, and links to public domain content for inspiration and use.
A great starting point, if you are unfamiliar with the public domain is the Public Domain Resources page. The resource page will direct you to sites that offer legal information about the public domain, copyright law, and other important links of interest, such as CreativeCommons
The information on this site is presented in good faith.
My education is in business, but I do not have a law degree. There is no legal advice here. This site is born mainly out of creativity and creative interest (passion, some might call it). I have an understanding of how copyright works and how the public domain and licensing, such as creative commons tie into that.
This site is for reference and should be used as such. My research and work here will be ongoing and I will do my best to keep the links alive and the content fresh. Lots more to come. See my contact page to get in touch.
