The Smithsonian just made a public domain contribution that it’s calling “unprecedented in both depth and breadth.”
Using a platform called Open Access, you will be able to search Smithsonian’s digital records, or visit the Collections Search Center for advanced filtering options.
Smithsonian Open Access makes it easier than ever to download, share, and reuse millions of the Smithsonian’s images—right now, without asking. This includes images and data from across the Smithsonian’s 19 museums, nine research centers, libraries, archives, and the National Zoo.
I can’t wait to dive in and explore this invaluable addition to the public domain. Enjoy.
