While searching the net for something unrelated, I came across a great blog called “What’s That Picture?” If you already know about it, you’ll probably be glad I’m bringing it to your attention again! If this is your first experience, get ready for a great show!
Whatsthatpicture.com originally launched in January 2007 by James Morley, based in London, UK. The site served as a place where people could upload their vintage photographs and have others come and identify them.
In a blog post dated July 30, 2014; an entry titled “Why I’m making my whole vintage photo collection Public Domain” was posted. Today, if you visit the What’s That Picture? Flickr Public Domain Album, you will find 1,821 images from the owners private collection… in the Public Domain CC0 1.0. In addition to the amazing photography, the owner has also posted some wonderful images of postcards and other ephemeral items. Enjoy
